The mechanism The tongs work with a powerful, durable spring. By squeezing the handles together, the ball opens so you can scoop in the tea. When released, the two halves close seamlessly, keeping the tea leaves safely contained during infusion.

Steel quality Made from high-quality stainless steel, meaning the instrument is resistant to corrosion and intensive daily use. The material is easy to clean and retains its shine, even after frequent contact with boiling water.

Size and capacity The 4.5 cm ball offers enough space for one generous measuring spoon of loose tea or spices. This volume is perfectly suited to a standard mug (250 ml), giving the leaves enough room to release their flavour compounds clearly into the water.

Serving tips & Care

• Scooping: Use the tongs themselves as a kind of spoon to scoop the right amount of tea from your tea tin, saving an extra step.

• Tea advice: Ideal for black tea, rooibos and coarser herbal infusions. For very fine teas, such as certain types of dust or fannings, a paper filter may sometimes be more suitable.

• Care: After use, open the tongs, empty them and simply rinse under the tap. Although dishwasher-safe, we recommend hand washing to keep the spring moving smoothly.

• Moment: The tool for the workplace or a quick cup of tea in the morning, when you want to enjoy the full flavour of loose leaves quickly.
