In collaboration with Amor por el Té, Brouwhoeve has chosen a quality that perfectly supports the traditional Turkish preparation method in a double pot, or çaydanlık. What makes this release special is its clear expression of power: the tea is robust enough to be drunk strong, yet retains its lively nuances when diluted. This is a delicacy that brings the vibrant energy of the Bosporus straight to your cup.

At Brouwhoeve, we appreciate this Turkish classic for its honest character and silky mouthfeel, which makes it ideal for long social moments. It shows that a pure black tea can have a lively, historic character, with the natural minerality of the tea blending beautifully with the light hints of caramel and tobacco that are typical of this variety. The combination of careful drying and fine cut gives a significantly fuller experience than many standard tea bags. Taste The mouthfeel is smooth, robust and extremely balanced. The purity of the ingredients supports the richness beautifully, while the malt nuances linger long and harmoniously for a clean finish.

Serving tips & pairings

  • Water temperature: Use water at 100°C for traditional extraction.

  • Infusion method: Allow the tea to brew for 5 to 10 minutes. For the true Turkish experience, use a double teapot in which the tea rests on top and slowly concentrates.

  • Serving tip: Serve in classic tulip-shaped glasses (ince belli). Drink the tea koyu (dark and strong) or açık (light and diluted), optionally with a sugar cube.

  • Moment: The ideal social lubricant; delicious at breakfast or after a rich meal.

  • Characteristic: Loose black tea (broken leaf); pure origin; rich in theine; characterful aroma.
